Dominika and Adam

April 30, 2009

Dominika and Adam held their wedding reception in our Mariposa Ballroom. Dominika and her family created the gorgeous centerpieces! Love it…

Customized menus placed in limes. Green and brown is always a great color combination.

Congratulations you guys! You make such a beautiful couple….

Joanna and Nick

April 21, 2009

Joanna and Nick got married here¬†this past Saturday. They had an interesting twist to their ceremony I’ve never seen before: The Rock Ceremony. Guests were invited to hold a rock, and during the ceremony each guest walked up to the altar to put their hopes/dreams for the lovely couple into a jar. It was a more modern version of a receiving line, and it was such a unique way to involve everyone into the ceremony! I loved that idea.

Here are their customized ceremony programs with some bubbles for the guests.

The couple had orange lanterns hung on the ceiling, they are always such a beautiful touch.

Joanna wanted to surprise Nick with a groom’s cake in his favorite team’s logo. He loved it!

You guys were wonderful to work with! Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your day. I wish you the best.

Paper Flowers

April 17, 2009

I wanted to share some pictures of the paper flowers I made for my friend’s upcoming baby shower. I love doing crafts, and this was a fun and cost effective way to spruce up her decor!

It’s all about paper and a hot glue gun ūüôā

Paper petals glued to floral wire, dried and ready for assembling…

…and the final result.

Stay tuned for pics from the shower!

Kelly and Damon

April 14, 2009

Kelly and Damon got married here on Saturday. We had high hopes that the rain would lay off by ceremony time, but ultimately we had to move the ceremony indoors. However, the ceremony was still beautiful inside the Mariposa Foyer. They did their vows in the front of the fireplace, and the flowers looked gorgeous.

The couple rented chivari chairs and gold chargers¬†for the reception. I am loving their centerpieces! Hydrangeas are my favorite…They designed custom menus and table numbers which looked so elegant…Each guest received a set of black and white damask coasters.

Their sweetheart table..

Their custom monogram lit onto the dance floor..

Congratulations to you both! It was a such a stunning wedding.

Amy and Bill

April 10, 2009

Amy and Bill got married here at Orange Tree last weekend. It was a gorgeous day and the details of their wedding was fantastic. Their lemon and lime color scheme were consistent throughout the event, in their programs, menus, matchboxes, favors, etc. I’m a sucker for details.

Amy’s bouquet, made by Joyce…

Centerpieces also created byJoyce.

Shelbi and Francisco!

April 8, 2009

This wedding is very special to us, because Francisco actually works here at Orange Tree! He is one of our banquet captains here and he does such an amazing job.¬†Our staff¬†was so excited to see this wedding happen! And Shelbi was such a beautiful bride….

Centerpieces created by Joyce. I love all the pink!

I know this pic is¬†a little blurry, but when Shelbi’s dad saw her for the first time, it was so sweet.¬†He was in tears….and then Shelbi was in tears…and then the whole bridal party was in tears!

Setting up the Mariposa Ballroom…

And last but not least, the wedding cake…

Congratulations to you both! What an amazing night.

Aglow Wax Designs

April 7, 2009

Meet Amy Eberhart from Aglow Wax Designs! We used to work together many years ago, and it so happened that she was a bridesmaid for one of our brides last fall! What a small world.

Since the last time I’ve seen her, Amy has started up¬†Aglow Wax Designs. Without further ado, here is Amy regarding her gorgeous wax designs…

What is Aglow Wax Designs?

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Aglow Handmade Wax Designs creates artistic, modern wax designs that are functional and affordable for any event or wedding.  We pride ourselves on the ability to transform a space with a simplistic approach, but still leaving a lasting impression. Each wax vessel is handmade and customized to fit the vision of the clients wedding.

How and Why did you get started in the business?

I wanted a different kind of design that was uncluttered and simplistic.  I love the look that candle light gives a room, but wanted to take it further. I started creating pieces for my friends and family, then began branching out to resorts. I enjoy creating something that is unique and personalized for each client.  Each one is hand poured with the finest quality wax and the purest colors.

What variety of shapes/colors?

We offer a variety of styles, shapes and colors to fit your wedding needs. Our custom-made option allows for the possibility of integrating accents, dates, quotes or B&W photos into the vessel, creating a personal touch for your wedding.  The wax vessels can also be used as a vase for creating stunning floral centerpieces.

Ordering and Consultations

Depending on the order size I would recommend a bride placing an order 2 months in advance.  We can provide our designs for any budget and we are always available to meet at the Orange Tree Resort for consultations.

Amy, thank you for sharing your beautiful designs with us!
