San Francisco Wedding

July 31, 2008

With a color scheme of chocolate, raspberry and gold, Natalie and Robert’s wedding was absolutely fabulous. I’m in love with Jennifer Skog Photography, and her images have truly captured the essence of this stunning wedding.

I love the place cards set on a bed of flowers.

Vegas Wedding

July 30, 2008

Wow, this wedding completely surpassed my ideas of a typical Vegas wedding. Over July 4th weekend, Desiree and Kiarash got married at the Wynn Hotel with 725 guests in attendance! Absolutely unbelievable. I love all the different dresses worn by the bridal party and ESPECIALLY the amazing decor of their reception! Simply breathtaking. Photos were taken by Victor Sizemore at VCS Photography.

Bria and Jonathan got married at a private residence off of Brainbridge Island. This wedding is darling because all of their family and friends helped to make this day absolutely personal and special. This goes to show that you don’t need a huge budget to have a beautiful wedding. Photos shot by Cheri Pearl. Check out more details of their wedding here.

Family members painted this yellow heart just for the wedding. So cute!

I love the little flower girl in her Crocs.

Paper flowers as place cards

Customized tattoos! Love it.

Inga and Jason

July 28, 2008

Inga and Jason got married here at Orange Tree in April. She was a wonderful bride to work with and I loved the green color scheme of her wedding. Photos were taken by Keith Alstrin from Alstrin Photography. Thank you Keith for providing the images for this beautiful wedding. Congratulations to the lovely couple and thank you for choosing Orange Tree!

Peonies and Polaroids

I fell in love with this picture at Peonies and Polaroids. This is a blog full of wedding inspiration and crafty ideas.

Some more pics from their site…

This is a beautiful color scheme for Tatiana and Justin’s wedding. The customized signs tied with ribbons on the back of each chair is lovely, not to mention the mounds of purple and green hydrangeas for the ceremony. Photos taken by Jen Fariello Photography.

Wedding TV Shows

July 24, 2008

I love taking a behind the scenes look at what goes on at other people’s weddings. So much time and effort put into one day, and it’s so interesting to see how different people handle the pressure. Not to mention the amazing ideas and level of detail each bride brings to their wedding. It’s always thrilling to watch something come together so perfectly for one of the biggest days of their lives.

Platinum Weddings on WE tv, Sundays 10/9c. An inside look at the most fabulous and over the top weddings you’ve ever seen. Everything is extremely lavish and so spectacular, it’s fun to live vicariously through the planning of these million dollar weddings.

Bridezillas on WE tv, Sundays 9/8c. I can’t watch this show too much because it can make me depressed. These high strung brides lose their cool on what’s supposed to be the most wonderful day of their lives, taking it out on everyone in their path. However, it was funny when this one bride made a toast at her reception (after her in-laws showed up extremely late for her ceremony), and stated something to the effect of “Thank you all for coming today. I’m sorry the ceremony started so late. It WILL be dealt with…” while her husband was whispering for her to stop.

Rich Bride, Poor Bride on WE tv. These couples set themselves on a budget and we get to watch them through the planning process to see who’s sticking to their budget or not. See if they can plan the wedding of their dreams without draining their wallets.

Say Yes to the Dress on the TLC Channel Tuesdays 8/7c. My favorite show on the list. The staff from the famous bridal salon, Kleinfeld, gives us a look their team of specialists and what goes on from the initial consultation with the bride all the way to the final dress fitting. I really love how these brides always end up going with their own gut feelings. There’s always a friend or a mom or relative who tries to make her go in a different direction with her gown, and it’s so great when the bride is true to herself and chooses the dress that she wants.

Whose Wedding is it Anyway on the Style Network. Wedding planning as seen from the wedding planners’ perspective. I enjoy watching these planners come up with creative ideas for brides who are on a tight budget and how well they handle themselves in challenging situations.

Wedding Gowns

July 23, 2008

Who doesn’t love to look at wedding gowns! Here are some of my personal favorites:

Alvina Valenta. The clean silhouette and ruffling along the edges is so chic.

 Carolina Herrera

Casablanca. I love this lace embroidery. So romantic and elegant.

 Casablanca

 Claire Pettibone

 Jim Hjelm

Lazaro. Not all dresses have to be strapless. I love the flower and lacing along the sweetheart neckline and spaghetti strap.

Lazaro. This one is for a princess ballerina. The large skirt and tulle would be so much fun.

Michelle Roth. I love the polka dots. Perfect for the fun bride, maybe for a luncheon wedding.

Pnina Tornai. This gown hugs in all the right places. Absolutely stunning.

Pnina Tornai. An interesting new way to tie your sash.

Reem Acra. There are no words, this dress is completely flawless. I adore the ribbon and light green flower along her waistline.

Vera Wang

Vera Wang. I must love the color green. This ballgown with a dropped waist and velvet sash is perfection.
